Robert Draws – Plt Kadisdik DKI Jakarta, Sarjoko, officially opened the art exhibition and charity auction at the Buya Hamka Hall, Masjid Agung Al-Azhar, in Selong, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The event, titled “Ramadan Rhapsody: A Symphony of Colors,” was held from March 10 to 19, 2025, and featured a wide range of artworks created by teachers and students from Al-Azhar institutions across Indonesia. The goal of this exhibition was to raise funds that would be donated to those in need, particularly the underprivileged communities in Jakarta.
Sarjoko expressed his appreciation for the art exhibition and auction, recognizing the efforts of the Pesantren Islam (YPI) Al-Azhar Foundation in organizing the event. “We are grateful for the opportunity to witness the creativity and dedication of our educators and students, whose work will now help those less fortunate,” he said. He explained this was the second time YPI Al-Azhar organized such an event, with over 220 Al-Azhar schools participating nationwide. A total of 130 artworks were showcased, created by teachers and students ranging from kindergarten to high school.
“This event aims to spark our students’ imagination and help them channel their creativity into something meaningful,” Zahrudin said. “We hope this exhibition nurtures young talent and allows them to contribute to society.”
